The course is excellent, covering all the basics—and beyond—needed to gain a solid understanding of soil carbon and the options available today for Australian farmers seeking unbiased guidance on these topics.
Agricultural Extension Officer, Riverine Plains Inc, VIC & NSW
This is a fabulous resource that I have been recommending to landholders in our region. The module design is really clever and walks farmers first through the practical things they can do before getting into the theory.
NSW Local Landcare Coordinator
I’d recommend this course to others.
Agronomist,
Carbon Service Industry, NSW

We now have a much better understanding of how we can build and measure carbon and are better equipped to evaluate the suitability of carbon-based initiatives in our mixed farming enterprise.
Primary Producer,
The Rock, NSW Riverina

One of the best aspects is that the course allows you to go at your own pace, so you can either dive deeper into the subject or focus on the fundamentals, depending on your needs. Highly recommended for anyone looking to expand their knowledge in this area.

I previously understood the importance of soil carbon in agricultural systems, but I found this course was a good refresher and was quite inspiring.

It’s fantastic that the information is from trusted sources, and these are referenced. This gives you the confidence that what you’re putting forward is right – you can say something and then back it up.

The content is really well presented and has a nice balance of information as text, videos, articles, etc. Content has been written simply and not too technical, which is ideal.

Two-thirds of course participants now recognise the value of soil carbon for soil health, productivity, and profitability, while the remaining third already understood its importance.

Soil carbon simplified

As Australia's only soil carbon research institute, we understand the confusion around soil carbon.

It's true, soil carbon can be complex, but we believe good education should simplify complexity.

We aim to increase soil carbon literacy and help Australian producers enhance soil carbon, understand carbon projects, and improve productivity and resilience.
